ECHN: A Customized Network Solution
Twin Networks created a customized network solution for the Eastern Connecticut Health Network (ECHN) Cancer Institute at the John A. DeQuattro Cancer Center. The institute is a comprehensive care and support organization with knowledgeable, experienced and compassionate caregivers, offering advanced medical treatment to help patients through the most challenging time of their lives.
The cancer center uses a complex computer network to connect to ECHN, Hartford Hospital and Johnson Memorial Hospitals to access a network resource for patient care. Hartford Hospital’s Director of Communication Engineering asked Twin Networks to analyze the network’s construction after he received repeated calls from frustrated doctors who couldn’t provide the quality of care they wanted in a timely manner because the network was too slow.
Twin Networks collaborated with representatives from ECHN and Hartford Hospital to create a solution that would best fit their needs. They analyzed the system, documented issues and designed a network that facilitated the movement of information between centers, doctors and patients. Their solutions included power cooling and cabling, compliance, team management, inspection and optimization.
Communication is vital to the ECHN Cancer Institute, and Twin Networks is honored to help them provide the most technologically advanced healthcare possible. After successfully sorting out its networking issues, the center’s directors asked Twin Networks to continue supporting its IT infrastructure. That was in 2009, and the partnership is still going strong.
Hartford Hospital: A Long-Standing Consulting Arrangement
Twin Networks has enjoyed a long-standing relationship with Hartford Hospital. Recently, the hospital became part of the Hartford HealthCare system, and Twin Networks managed a project that consolidated the former Hartford Specialists Group into the Hartford Medical Group. Hartford Specialists had more than 40 sites across Central and Eastern Connecticut that needed their network fully converted to access the Hartford HealthCare networks. This included migrating phone systems and managing vendors and manufacturers to achieve a successful migration.
Twin Networks also consulted on Hartford Hospital’s move to a voice-over IP (VoIP) phone system, converting the existing network infrastructure to support new VoIP phones. Twin Networks assisted the communication engineering department with multiple projects including an upgrade of the electrical and HVAC systems to power new networking equipment. Twin Networks is currently engaged in several projects with the hospital and continues to enjoy a productive partnership.
United Corporate Services: Vendor Management
United Corporate Services in White Plains, NY was overwhelmed with the number of vendors they hired to create a networking system. The vendors weren’t communicating effectively with each other or with the company, and Twin Networks was asked to set up a network for the growing business’s three offices.
They immediately saw that vendor miscommunication was creating issues, which would only escalate as the project scope broadened. Twin Networks streamlined the team of vendors and offered a full-service solution that encompassed VoIP interoffice connection, network migration, Cisco and managed services such as software development and desktop support.
Hospital System: Last Mile Offering
Twin Networks’ “Last Mile” initiative gives clients a lifeline at the end of a project that has gone off track. They were selected by a large hospital provider to manage its Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) infrastructure. This client values Twin Networks’ ongoing commitment to keeping their UPS equipment running so they can successfully deliver patient care over the network. Twin Networks continues to serve more than 200 locations for this hospital system.
Legal Services: A Partner in Transformation
Twin Networks managed the office relocation of a prestigious legal services firm to its new building in New York City. Our services included successfully implementing a phone migration, a fiber optic network back to the corporate headquarters and a remote-worker program that gave employees access to needed systems during the transition.
