YOUR BUSINESS FIRST / TWIN NETWORKS

Your vendors have a roadmap.
Your business deserves its own.

Renewals, rising hardware costs, and support deadlines all demand a decision. Make it on your business terms—with a plan for your operations, your margins, and your next stage of growth.

Twin Networks is your safe harbor in a changing technology landscape. Our team brings decades of experience connecting technology decisions to business strategy—protecting operations, preserving margins, and preparing for what comes next.

Before you renew, replace, or commit—talk with Twin. Your initial conversation is free, with no obligation.

THE VALUE IN TWIN NETWORKS
EXPERIENCE THAT SERVES YOUR BUSINESS

We put the V in VAR.
And help you keep the P in your P&L.

Technology should help you compete, keep your business running, and protect your margins. We help you decide what’s worth paying for.

We look at the software your people use, the hardware you already own, your ability to recover from an outage, and your plans for growth. Together, we build a practical path forward—with room for cloud and AI where they serve your business.

Your priorities set the roadmap. Twin helps you evaluate the tradeoffs, sequence investments, and keep the plan aligned with your business as it grows.

THE WHOLE BUSINESS. THE WHOLE DECISION.

Every technology decision
has a business consequence.

A renewal, a cloud move, or a server replacement rarely stands alone. Twin helps you understand the connections before you commit.

A subscription affects more than this year’s budget.

Microsoft 365, Citrix, AutoCAD, and VMware illustrate the shift toward recurring commitments. We help assess actual usage, overlapping capabilities, renewal terms, and what happens to your use rights if you leave.

A refresh deadline doesn’t settle what to replace.

Memory costs and support lifecycles can put pressure on your capital budget. We assess whether existing hardware can remain useful, where alternatives such as XCP-ng fit, and what needs testing before a move.

A cloud decision changes how your business operates.

Connectivity, application performance, software licensing, backup, and disaster recovery all belong in the business case. We help evaluate the complete commitment—including the people who will support it.

EXPERIENCED GUIDANCE / PRACTICAL DELIVERY

A partner who sees
beyond the next purchase.

Whether you have a small IT team or no internal department, Twin Networks brings a business and technology perspective to the table.

You set the priorities. We help evaluate the tradeoffs, test changes, and turn the decision into a plan your team can operate.

Start with your business.

Understand the services you depend on, the financial constraints, and where you want to grow.

Validate the options.

Review costs and support obligations. When a change needs testing, scope a separate environment to check business software, integrations, and recovery before touching live systems.

Build your roadmap.

Prioritize investments, renewals, and improvements over time. Include cloud and AI where there is a clear business case. Revisit the plan as your business changes.

START WITH THE BUSINESS

What does this change
need to protect?

A workload matters because someone depends on it. Start with one critical business service and the conditions its owner would need to approve a change.

Optional notes for your downloaded brief. They stay in this browser and are not included in the conversation request. Use general descriptions, not confidential details.

If these answers are unknown, clarifying them is a useful first step. A lower platform price does not settle them.

Next: compare the full cost ↓

SEE WHAT YOU GET / ILLUSTRATIVE EXAMPLE

$96,000 in license savings.
$21,000 after the move.

This is why the exit option needs a business case. In this example, lower platform costs look compelling—until you include the work and the operating model.

Three-year platform savings$96,000
Additional operating costs− $18,000
Migration and overlap− $57,000
Net three-year benefit$21,000

Annual licensing: $48,000 → $16,000. Other annual operations: $24,000 → $30,000. Migration: $45,000. Overlap: $12,000. No one-time cost to stay. These are example inputs, not vendor prices.

What the brief tells your team

The economics: $216,000 to stay versus $195,000 to move. Simple payback is about 26 months.

The sensitivity: Another $21,000 in transition costs would erase the modeled benefit. Validate the scope and contingency.

The next step: Prove application support, restore, and rollback in a pilot before approving the migration.

01 / THE ECONOMICS

Compare the same scope.
Then compare the price.

Use your quote and your own estimates. Include the same workloads, service levels, and recovery requirements on both sides.

Your cost assumptions

Start with your numbers, or load a clearly labeled example. Every field is required; enter 0 only when you have confirmed there is no cost.

Keep VMware
Move to your shortlisted alternative

Include recurring guest OS, database, CAL/subscription, management, backup, and disaster recovery costs: off-site storage, recovery capacity, connectivity, testing, and support. Compare equivalent recovery targets on both sides. Put new perpetual license purchases in one-time costs and avoid double counting. Annual figures stay constant in this model. The move scenario starts at target-state run rate; add transition overlap separately without counting the same expense twice. Excludes taxes, financing, discounting, inflation, growth, and business disruption losses.

Before accepting the renewal quote

Reconcile the edition, physical CPU/core inventory, term, support, and storage entitlements with the written quote. Broadcom’s published VCF/VVF guidance specifies a 16-core minimum per physical CPU. This tool uses your actual quote and does not impose an assumed order minimum or list price.

02 / THE PRACTICAL QUESTIONS

Find the blockers
before the cutover.

Mark an item only when you have evidence. Unchecked items become the next questions in your decision brief; this is a planning checklist, not a certification.

0 of 6 evidence areas confirmed. Use the gaps to scope your discovery work.

03 / YOUR TAKEAWAY

Walk into the meeting
with a clearer next step.

Your Migration Decision Brief puts the business priorities, cost comparison, and evidence gaps in one place. Use it to agree on a next step with finance, application owners, and your leadership team.

The brief downloads as a text file. The guide can be printed or saved as a PDF using your browser. Inputs are not saved after you leave or refresh this page.

STAY

The economics or readiness favor renewing.

Validate the scope, resolve unknowns, and document a future review date.

STAGE

The opportunity needs evidence.

Run a representative pilot and price the transition. Decide what must change now and what can wait.

MIGRATE

The business case and testing support a move.

Agree on workload waves, owners, acceptance criteria, and rollback.

A SECOND SET OF EYES

Before you renew, replace,
or commit—talk with Twin.

Tell us what is changing in your business and which decision is on the table. We’ll discuss your priorities, timing, and whether Twin is the right partner to help.

  • What is driving the decision, and how soon must you act?
  • What must keep working, and which assumptions need checking?
  • Would a scoped review or application pilot help you decide?

The initial conversation is free. Detailed assessments, licensing reviews, and pilots are paid services with scope and cost agreed before work starts. Please don’t submit credentials, confidential quotes, or sensitive infrastructure details here.
